TendMyStore Connect your store
Get started

Connect your store

Three steps, no plugin and no password shared. Have your store's WordPress administrator login ready.

Before you start

Your store needs:

  • WooCommerce with its REST API, on an HTTPS address that the internet can reach.
  • WordPress permalinks set to anything except "Plain" (Settings > Permalinks).
  • WooCommerce Analytics turned on, for sales reports and stock alerts.
  • If a firewall or security plugin limits API access, allow our address 138.68.124.232. All of our requests to your store come from it.

Approve as an administrator. TendMyStore can do what the approving user can do. A Shop manager can manage products, orders and coupons, but WordPress does not let a Shop manager delete customer accounts, for example.

1. Add TendMyStore to your assistant

Add TendMyStore in ChatGPT or Claude. Until the directory listings are approved, add it as a custom connector with this server address:

https://api.tendmystore.com/mcp

Your assistant then opens the TendMyStore sign-in page.

2. Approve in your own store

  1. On the TendMyStore sign-in page, check that it names your assistant (for example ChatGPT or Claude), then enter your store's address, such as https://shop.example.com.
  2. Your store opens its own WooCommerce approval screen. Sign in to WordPress if asked, and approve Read/Write access for "TendMyStore - sign in".

3. Confirm it is your store

  1. In your WordPress admin, open WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API.
  2. Find the new key whose description starts with "TendMyStore - sign in". Its Consumer key column ends with "..." and 7 characters.
  3. Type those 7 characters on the TendMyStore page. You have three tries.

Your assistant is now connected. Go back to your chat.

Check every screen before you approve

  • The TendMyStore sign-in page is on https://api.tendmystore.com and names the assistant that is asking.
  • The approval screen is on your own store's address, not ours.
  • We never ask for your WordPress password, a full API key or its secret. Only the last 7 characters of the key, and only on our sign-in page.
  • If you did not start the sign-in yourself, someone may have sent you the link. Do not continue, and revoke any key it created.

What to ask first

"Give me an overview of my store."

"Which products are low on stock?"

"Create a coupon for 10% off this weekend."

"What sold best last month?"

Changes that delete, affect many items, email customers, record refunds or change settings show you a preview first. See how changes work.

One assistant per store at a time

Each sign-in gives TendMyStore a new key, and TendMyStore uses only the newest one. Signing in from a second assistant therefore signs the first one out of that store. Each connection in your assistant works with one store; to switch, sign in again with the other store's address.

Disconnecting

Ask your assistant to disconnect your store, then revoke the TendMyStore key in WooCommerce under Settings > Advanced > REST API. Either step alone ends our access. Disconnecting also deletes our change history for your store.

Stuck?

The support page covers the 7 characters, a sign-in started on another device, Deny in WooCommerce, firewall errors and more. Or write to support@tendmystore.com.
