Connecting

Where do I find the 7 characters?

In your WordPress admin, open WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API. Find the key whose description starts with "TendMyStore - sign in". Its Consumer key column ends with "..." and 7 characters. Type those 7 characters.

I typed the wrong characters three times

The sign-in stops after three wrong tries. Start again from your assistant. The unused key stays in your store. You can revoke it in the same REST API screen.

The page says the sign-in was started on another device

Finish the sign-in in the same browser that opened it. If you did not start it yourself, someone may have sent you the link. Do not continue, and revoke the key it created.

I pressed Deny in WooCommerce

Nothing was connected and no key was created. Close the TendMyStore page.

WooCommerce says "An error occurred in the request and at the time were unable to send the consumer data"

Your store could not deliver the new key to us. WooCommerce then deletes the key, so nothing is left behind. Check that your store can reach the internet, then try again. Since October 11, 2026, we check the key only after the approval, so stores whose hosting answers one request at a time can connect too. If it keeps failing, write to us with your store's address.

Which WordPress user should approve?

An administrator. TendMyStore can do what the approving user can do. A Shop manager can manage products, orders and coupons, but WordPress does not let a Shop manager delete customer accounts, for example. If your assistant says the WordPress user who approved is not allowed to do something, reconnect while signed in as an administrator.

I connected before October 11, 2026

Earlier connections were view-only. Connect again from your assistant and approve Read/Write access, so TendMyStore can make the changes you ask for.

Using it

Why does my assistant ask me to confirm?

Deleting things, changing many items at once, emailing customers, recording refunds and changing store settings first show a preview. Nothing changes until you agree. Then your assistant repeats the request with a one-time code that works once, for 10 minutes, and only for exactly what you saw.

How do I undo a change?

Ask your assistant what TendMyStore changed, then ask it to undo one change. It shows what will be put back and warns you if the item was changed again since. Undo is available for 30 days. It cannot unsend an email or bring back something that was deleted permanently.

Does TendMyStore refund money?

No. It records the refund in WooCommerce (and can put the items back in stock), and WooCommerce emails the customer a refund notice. To pay the money back, use your payment provider, or ask your assistant to prepare a payment refund: it gives you a link to the order in WooCommerce, where you press your payment provider's refund button.

I was signed out

Sessions end after 30 days, and when your store's key is revoked or replaced. Sign in again from your assistant.

I connected more than once

Each sign-in creates a new key in WooCommerce, and TendMyStore uses only the newest one. Older "TendMyStore" keys are no longer used. You can revoke them.

Do the figures match my admin?

TendMyStore passes on what WooCommerce reports. Sales reports follow your WooCommerce Analytics settings, for example which order statuses count as sales. Your assistant writes the answer, so check important figures in your admin.

Disconnecting

Ask your assistant to disconnect your store, then revoke the TendMyStore key in WooCommerce under Settings > Advanced > REST API. Either step alone ends our access. Disconnecting also deletes our change history for your store.
